The Quest is for exploring, playing and sharing with respect for other people. These rules apply to profiles, usernames, photos, videos, audio, Moments, stories, shared quests, comments, reactions and interactions connected with the service.
1. Respect people
Do not harass, threaten, stalk, bully or discriminate against people. Hateful content attacking protected characteristics, encouragement of violence, sexual exploitation and abuse are prohibited. Never contact or follow someone in the physical world because a map marker shows their position without their consent.
Do not impersonate another person, organization, support agent or developer. Do not use the service for spam, scams, phishing, deceptive promotions or selling access to accounts and rewards.
2. Share appropriate content
Do not post unlawful material, sexually explicit content, sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate images, graphic abuse or content encouraging self-harm or dangerous acts. Do not glorify exploitation or instruct users to commit harm. Context can matter, but it does not excuse material that is illegal or creates a serious safety risk.
Only upload content you have the right to share, including any music, recordings and other works within a video. Do not record or publish someone in a way that infringes their privacy or applicable recording laws. Respect copyright and other people's images and personal information. Do not expose addresses, private correspondence, identity documents, financial details or sensitive locations. Avoid identifying children or publishing their precise locations.
3. Keep exploration safe
Do not trespass, enter unsafe areas, violate restrictions or put yourself or others at risk for a quest. Leave a quest unfinished when it is unsafe or inaccessible. Do not use gameplay to obstruct public spaces, disturb residents or encourage dangerous challenges. Do not play while driving or crossing a road.
Location and widgets may show an old or inaccurate position. They are not a safety check or emergency service. In an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service rather than waiting for an app response.
4. Play fairly
Do not falsify steps or location, automate taps or scores, exploit rewards, tamper with requests, bypass access controls or purchase restrictions, or trade stolen accounts. Report a reproducible bug through Support rather than exploiting it or publishing private user data.
5. Visibility and boundaries
Personal Moments can be seen by signed-in users beyond your friends. Public profile information also appears in social features and leagues. Mutual followers may have access to friend presence and certain quest activity. Review location sharing and iOS permissions before sharing. Turning off location access does not erase previous posts.
Do not treat a mutual follow, photo upload or shared quest as permission for unwanted contact. Respect a person's request to stop interacting. Use the profile’s More menu to block unwanted interaction. Blocking removes follows in both directions and blocks new shared invitations, comments/reactions involving that account, and friend-location access. Open shared quests involving both accounts are cancelled without granting completion rewards. You can unblock in Privacy settings; this does not restore previous follows or cancelled quests.
6. Report a concern
Use Report in a profile’s More menu, a publication’s More menu, a comment menu or a story menu. Select the relevant category; the app confirms when the server accepts the report. For additional context, intellectual-property notices, appeals or unavailable content, email app.thequest@gmail.com. Include your username, the relevant username or content reference, an approximate time, a short explanation and a screenshot if safe. Send only information needed to understand the concern. Never send your password or redistribute harmful material merely to report it. For suspected child sexual abuse material, identify the account or reference without attaching or downloading illegal material.
Reports are reviewed privately by authorized operators. Ordinary photo and video posts, avatars, stories, comments and description edits appear without mandatory human approval. Authorized operators investigate reports; limited text screening also rejects narrowly defined spam/solicitation patterns. We do not claim continuous human monitoring or automated image classification. Profiles and historical information can also be investigated after a report. For privacy requests, use app.thequest@gmail.com.
7. Handling concerns
Appropriate actions may include investigating, removing content, correcting game records or restricting access, subject to applicable law and operational capability. We consider context, severity, repeated conduct and users' rights. A report count alone does not prove a violation. Reports are assessed against the current material and relevant context. Removed content is not restored automatically by publication handlers. Where a decision affects you, you can contact app.thequest@gmail.com to explain an error and request reconsideration. Requests for reconsideration may be submitted by email; availability of other appeal mechanisms depends on the applicable law and service features.
Reports should be truthful and made in good faith. Do not organize retaliatory or false reports. Retention and disclosure of report information are governed by the Privacy Policy. These guidelines supplement the Terms of Service.
